A beautiful Japanese silk embroidered tapestry wall hanging, finely worked in coloured threads with a temple, a bridge in a forested river landscape, and Japanese wisteria, heading to a further shore, with a patterned silk brocade border and backing.

See the last pictures which is the building was constructed in the Edo period for residence to English engineers hired as instructors for those in charge of the operation of first Western style spinning mill in Japan. 

In 1865, a group of Satsuma students had left for England in the secret voyage, where they purchased steam engines and spinning machines, and hired the seven English engineers.
